Why not add this recipe as a variant on the already present Cookbook:Biscuits page like has been done for brownies? liblamb 15:30, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Why I didn't: because of poor name choice, I though we didn't have a biscuit recipe
Why we shouldn't: the brownie page is a mess; it should be 1 intro page pointing to 3 recipe pages

Reasonable enough but more action is required then if I understand. If the brownie page should be 1 intro page pointing to 3 recipe pages shouldn't the biscuit mess have the same solution? Do you think we should run this idea through the Talk:Cookbook page first or just start doing things?liblamb 01:47, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Given that this is just two pages, linking both directions is also reasonable. That was done for Omelet/Omelette, but would not be reasonable for Brownie. The awkward thing about the Brownie page is that history should be preserved to meet the GNU Free Documentation License requirements. It is kind of standard (though yucky) to just copy the history to the new talk page. The biscuit recipes are different enough that they should both stay I think; the usage of egg is major and the new version has a drop-biscuit variation. Maybe "Egg Biscuit" and "Plain Biscuit"? (ick) Oh, the brownie page could use a bit of really simple image manipulation (cropping). If you are the one to do this, please use jpegtran to do it losslessly -- there is a Tk interface if you wish to use a mouse and see what you are doing. BTW, I'm planning to split up the Pizza recipe so that "Pizza" lists the different types of crust and sauce. It's the same problem. So, do you think the biscuit problem merits an intro page or just bidirectional links? AlbertCahalan 03:43, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Well, I'm probably too lazy to do anything right now so I vote with innaction. I know, I suck, but it's the truth. :-( liblamb 04:53, 3 May 2005 (UTC)Reply
Speaking as a newcomer... it seems like having bidirectional links should work, provided not too many more recipes show up. Personally, I have a variation on "Biscuit", but it's not different enough to warrant a whole new page (half whole wheat, veg. oil for the fat) - there could just be a "variations" section. However, having "Biscuit" and "Biscuits" is confusing, since the difference (from the titles) is totally unclear. "Biscuits (simple)" and "Biscuits", maybe, since "Biscuit" is fewer ingredients? This page and the "Biscuits" page need to be combined. --Anon
